Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure. We support data centers and all associated hardware to ensure continuous access to cloud services. We seek talented individuals to join us in tackling complex challenges and supporting our infrastructure.

You will be part of a diverse team including software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your role will involve collaborating across teams to uphold safety and security standards, while providing scalable and cost-effective solutions. Position: Fire Protection Engineer

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement fire safety systems for data centers worldwide. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Designing and overseeing fire protection systems
2. Ensuring compliance with international standards
3. Providing technical guidance
4. Supporting continuous improvement of safety standards

A typical day involves reviewing design proposals, conducting analyses, and consulting with global teams to enhance safety measures. You will work closely with architects and engineers to develop innovative solutions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field with 2 years of experience
• Experience in fire protection design and construction
• Knowledge of industry standards (NFPA, ICC)
• Ability to interpret technical documents

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical writing experience
• Experience in data center, medical, or industrial projects
• Fire Protection Engineer license
• Knowledge of codes and standards
• Performance-based fire design experience
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
• Strong analytical skills
