Brightsmith is partnered, with a leading Direct-Air-Capture technology business, who is looking to hire their second Finance member of their growing start-up. A business with strong strategic partnerships, and entering exciting funding rounds.

What You’ll Be Driving

• Own the numbers. Lead the charge on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis – and turn insights into action.
• Build clarity from complexity. Create dashboards, reports, and models that bring our performance story to life and power smart decision-making.
• Be the finance partner projects deserve. Work closely with project leads to track actuals vs. budgets and bring transparency to the frontline.
• Collaborate like a pro. Dive into cross-functional conversations to uncover drivers, challenge assumptions, and boost financial outcomes.
• Fuel investor confidence. Help prepare compelling monthly and quarterly investor updates – with sharp analysis and clear commentary.
• Shape the big picture. Team up with our VP Finance on funding strategies, scenario planning, and long-term initiatives.
• Scale what works. Help build and refine tools, workflows, and processes to grow a future-proof finance function.
• Close with confidence. Support our monthly and quarterly close process, working with external accounting partners.

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years' experience in FP&A, controlling, M&A, or financial modelling, ideally in a start-up, scale-up, or VC-backed environment
• A degree in Finance, Business Admin, or similar – bonus points for a CFA or MBA
• A love for turning complex data into crisp, strategic insights
• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, and ideally exposure to BI tools
• Solid grounding in accounting fundamentals and financial statements
• Strong communication chops – you thrive working cross-functionally
• Fluent in English (German is a plus, but not essential)
