Job Opportunity: Financial Control & Governance Manager at Royal Canin

In this newly created role within the European Supply Finance team, you will serve as the key reporting, accounting governance, and internal controls lead for our Royal Canin (RC) Factory in Bruck (BRK), collaborating closely with the Plant Manager and Supply Finance team.

As the Financial Control & Governance Manager, your responsibilities include ensuring that proper accounting and control processes are in place to support accurate, timely, and high-quality financial statements, providing valuable insights for your factory. You will network and benchmark with other Controllership Teams and experts within the Mars organization.

This is a fixed-term role with the potential for extension, primarily based in Austria (Bruck or Vienna), with a hybrid setup from other locations within DACH and Benelux, requiring physical presence at BRK as per agreed schedule.

What We Are Looking For

• University degree or equivalent, preferably in Accounting
• Strong accounting and finance background with experience in financial statement reporting, including US GAAP and internal controls
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CIMA, ACCA, or similar are advantageous; experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems is a plus
• Ability to handle ambiguity in financial decision-making, with strong analytical skills, digital savviness, effective communication, and experience engaging with senior leadership
• Proficiency in English is required; advanced German skills are highly beneficial for local communication

Key Responsibilities

• Quality of Accounts: Ensure the integrity of balance sheets and P&L through collaboration with our Shared Service Center, resolve complex accounting issues, maintain relationships with the Finance team, and review financial accounts for your factory.
• Financial Reporting: Deliver timely and accurate financial information, co-lead monthly closing meetings, analyze financial statements, drive actions from month-end reporting, and manage year-end audit processes with internal and external auditors.
• Governance & Control: Oversee the controls framework and testing plan, collaborate with the Plant Manager and factory team to address gaps, monitor G&C KPIs, and drive continuous improvements aligned with the broader RC Governance agenda.
• General: Foster a collaborative culture between finance and non-finance teams, champion controls, contribute to the Supply Reporting and Governance agenda, lead RC/RC Controllership projects and transformations, and support new systems or business model implementations.
