Zusammenfassung

Cofinity-X GmbH, based in Cologne, is seeking an experienced accounting professional to run end-to-end bookkeeping in DATEV under German GAAP (HGB). The role covers month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and statutory reporting in collaboration with the external tax advisor.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in financial accounting, strong DATEV/Excel skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifikationen

• Completed vocational training as a tax clerk or commercial training with further qualification as an accountant
• At least three years of professional experience in financial accounting
• In-depth knowledge of HGB and VAT regulations
• Advanced Excel skills and DATEV experience

Aufgaben

• Run end-to-end bookkeeping in DATEV in accordance with German GAAP (HGB)
• Take full responsibility for the month-end close and journal entries
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and P&L accounts
• Maintain the fixed asset register and monitor open items
• Prepare monthly statutory reports and cooperate with external tax advisor
• Prepare management reports and perform variance analyses
• Provide financial information and ad hoc analyses to management
• Drive continuous improvement to increase efficiency and automation across accounting operations

Your mission

• Run end-to-end bookkeeping in DATEV in accordance with German GAAP (HGB), including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and general ledger postings
• Take full responsibility for the month-end close, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, prepayments and accounting adjustments
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss accounts and supporting financial schedules
• Maintain the fixed asset register and monitor open items
• Prepare and submit monthly statutory reports (e.g. Bundesbank reporting – AWV)
• Support the preparation of the annual financial statements and tax filings in cooperation with our external tax advisor
• Prepare regular management reports, perform variance analyses and investigate unusual or unexpected financial movements
• Provide management with financial information and ad hoc analyses as required
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, standardisation and automation across accounting operations
• Take on related administrative tasks within finance and operations

Your profile

• Completed vocational training as a tax clerk (Steuerfachangestellte/r) or commercial training with further qualification as a certified accountant (e.g. Finanzbuchhalter IHK), or a degree in business administration with a focus on accounting
• At least three years of professional experience in financial accounting, ideally in the technology or SaaS sector
• In-depth knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and sound knowledge of VAT regulations
• Advanced Excel skills and a strong working knowledge of accounting systems such as DATEV
• Structured, precise and detail-oriented, with a high level of discretion
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
• A pragmatic approach and a willingness to take on operational tasks
• Excellent command of German, both written and spoken, and a very good command of English
