We are looking for a Financial Accountant (m/f/d), based in Munich.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Head of Treaty Technical Accounting, you will join a Global Technical Accounting team, work on some of the key Internal OEs, support global processes, projects, implementations and get exposure to various reinsurance accounting and reporting tasks. Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Governance and Quality Assurance: Document policies, procedures, and workflows for areas of responsibility; archive records for audit and statutory compliance; draft standards to enhance quality and contribute to global operations improvement.
  

• Project Work: Engage in project work as assigned, supporting various initiatives and tasks.
  

• Reporting and Closing: Ensure accurate and timely IFRS, GAAP, and statutory closing and reporting tasks globally; complete periodic postings, journal entries, and account reconciliations; manage intercompany transaction reconciliation.
  

• Data Coordination: Coordinate, transfer, and reconcile data from front-end system interfaces; manage monthly legal entity close submissions, including accruals and other accounting transactions.
  

• Third-party Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with auditors, business units, tax authorities, and other public authorities.
  

• Global P&L Analysis and Reviews: Assist internal clients with reports, research, and other activities; identify items for discussion or resolution.
  

• Contribution to Global Policies: Actively contribute to the implementation of global policies and procedures, enhancing operational cycles and workflows.
  

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for data analysis and effective communication.
  

• Understanding of insurance financial statements and performance measurement.
  

• Comprehensive knowledge of local GAAP, IAS/IFRS, regulatory, tax, and Allianz accounting policies.
  

• Ability to manage complex processes like closing, reporting, and finance operations, including data flow comprehension.
  

• Professional experience in reinsurance, P&C insurance, and/or asset management.
  

• Proven understanding of standard accounting practices (GAAP & IFRS) for insurance and reinsurance.
  

• Experience in project and teamwork within an international and dynamic environment.
  

• A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role, and the broader organization is expected.
