Job summary

Gebr. Heinemann in Istanbul is seeking a Finance Manager (m/f/d) to build and lead the finance function for a new regional hub. You will report to the Managing Director, ensure accurate reporting under German GAAP, Turkish GAAP, and IFRS, and partner with HQ and local management.

You will develop governance structures, manage tax and statutory filings, and guide the team to deliver reliable financial insights for strategic decisions while fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in finance management in international environments.
• Proven leadership and people-management skills.
• Strong knowledge of SAP and financial regulations (HGB/IFRS/Turkish GAAP).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in English; Turkish is essential; German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of financial accounting and tax, and prepare monthly/annual/group statements under HGB, Turkish GAAP and IFRS.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting structures.
• Serve as a key contact for shareholders, auditors, tax advisors, regulators and other external parties.
• Manage tax-related matters, statutory filings, and transfer pricing compliance.
• Ensure data integrity and reliable data for forecasting, budgeting, KPI management and reporting.
• Lead and develop the Finance team and collaborate with HQ and local management.

Finance Manager (m/f/d) - Istanbul

Your new job includes

We are currently establishing a new company in Istanbul that will serve as a logistics hub for the region. As Finance Manager (m/f/d) on-site, you will report directly to the Managing Director and play a key role in building a strong and reliable finance function from the ground up. You will ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting, establish and maintain robust governance and compliance structures in line with HQ policies and regulatory requirements, and provide reliable financial insights to support strategic decision-making. In addition, you will build and develop a high-performing team, foster a sustainable and supportive work environment, and act as a trusted business partner to local management, HQ functions, and external stakeholders.

In particular, you will:

• take ownership of financial accounting and tax as well as the preparation of monthly, annual, and group financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB), Turkish GAAP and IFRS
• ensure sound accounting practices, continuously develop accounting policies, compliance standards, and internal control systems, and establish effective internal reporting structures to support financial controlling and management decision-making
• act as one of the key point of contact for shareholders, auditors, tax advisors, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders
• manage financial matters related to tax and business operations, including statutory filings, the proper recording and documentation of all business transactions, and compliance with transfer pricing requirements
• ensure the quality and integrity of all financial data and the accurate recording of business transactions within financial systems
• serve as the key interface to Controlling, providing a reliable data foundation for forecasting, budgeting, KPI management, and management reporting
• lead, develop, and support your Finance team both professionally and disciplinarily, while fostering effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

What you should bring along

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Taxation or a related field; advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in finance management, ideally in international retail, FMCG, or other customer-oriented industries, including collaboration with stakeholders at different levels in an international environment.
• Proven leadership experience in managing and developing teams, combined with strong business partnering skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and key internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP and a solid understanding of general tax topics and relevant financial regulations.
• Ability to interpret financial standards, ensure compliance, and manage complex financial processes.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with accuracy under deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, combined with native-level proficiency in Turkish and fluency in English. German language skills are a plus.
