What You’ll Be Doing
Support Business Decisions: Utilize data to identify trends and performance opportunities as well as undesired developments and potential risks. Proactively encourage market teams to leverage this analysis for informed decision-making.
Drive Direct Cost Management: Drive the direct costs for all DACH functions and act as the focal point for direct cost management. Offer commercial finance input to align cost forecasts with the Group’s objectives. Constantly assess plans and track performance to ensure they support the overall business strategy while maintaining a commercial mindset in decision-making.
Perform Budgeting and Forecasts: Translate business and functional objectives into robust financial plans and KPIs, ensuring clarity and relevance in all management information as well as fulfilment of the Group Finance requirements.
Monitor Performance: Oversee actual performance against budget, previous forecast, and prior periods, creating analyses and delivering accurate and insightful commentary, including risk and opportunities analysis and root cause assessments for key variances.
Support Monthly Closing: Support the monthly closing process through sense-checking of outcomes and updating accruals.
Enhance Local Finance Reporting: Develop and enhance further tailored reports and management information for the DACH market that support strong business performance and adhere to Group submission deadlines.
Support Projects: Provide financial support to M&A and other projects, programs or activities including preparation of business cases and investment proposals.
Champion Continuous Improvement: Work closely with finance peers to share best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team, while actively managing your own development.
About you
University degree in Business Administration/ Economics with a focus on finance, or a related field; alternatively professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
At least 2 years professional experience in FP&A/ Controlling/ Commercial
Good analysis and forecasting skills, with the ability to analyse data and situations quickly from different perspectives and translate financial information into actionable insights and recommendations
First experiences in maintaining and further development of business financial reporting
Ability to connect the dots between financial data and its non-financial root causes
Practical skills in standard financial software & tools (e.g., ERP systems, Data Warehouses, MS Excel, MS PPT) and familiarity with analytics platforms and technologies
First experience in stakeholder engagement within matrix structures, adept at managing relationships with various stakeholders at different levels
Team player, enthusiastic and collaborative in approach, with a “can do” attitude and open mind
Very good knowledge of spoken and written English; German is an advantage
