Job summary

HappyGlobal Service is seeking an on-site Field Service Engineer to install, commission and start-up offshore wind transformers, compact substations, and switchgear at customer sites. The role includes preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, fault diagnosis, and on-site training for customers.

Candidates should have a completed electrician/electronics technician qualification with at least 3 years of HV field service experience, and preferably Techniker or Meister.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as electrician/electronics technician.
• Minimum 3 years of field service with high-voltage equipment.
• Experience with offshore wind transformers, compact substations, or switchgear preferred.

Responsibilities

• On-site installation, commissioning and start-up of offshore wind transformers, compact substations and switchgear.
• Maintenance and repairs of offshore equipment including preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting at customer sites with systematic diagnostics.
• Documentation and reporting using maintenance software and field service reports.
• Safety and compliance with internal policies and offshore regulations (VDE0100, VDE0101).
• Subcontractor supervision and sign-off on work performed by subcontractors.
• Customer training and post-sales support on equipment operation and maintenance.

Job description

• On-site Installation&Commissioning-Carry out installation, commissioning, and start-up of offshore windtransformers, compact substations, and switchgear at customer locations.
• Maintenance&Repairs-Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on offshoretransformers, compact substations, and switchgear.
• Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting-Rapidly respond to technical issues at customer sites, perform systematicdiagnostics, and provide effective solutions.
• Documentation & Reporting-Use maintenance software to log service activities, prepare field service reports, andmaintain technical records.
• Safety&Compliance-Strictly adhere to internal safety policies and customer site safety regulations, ensuringcompliance with VDE0100 (installations up to 1000V),VDE0101(installations above 1000V), and special offshoresafety requirements.
• Subcontractor Supervision-Supervise and sign off on work performed by subcontractors within the scope of fieldmaintenance.
• Customer Training & Support-Provide technical training and after‑sales support to customers on equipmentoperation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as an electrician/electronics technician (e.g., industrial engineering, energy andbuilding services, automation technology, mechatronics).
• Additional qualification as a Technician (Techniker) or Master Craftsman (Meister) is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of field service experience with high-voltage electrical equipment; experience with offshore wind transformers, compact substations, or switchgear is highly desirable.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience in installation and maintenance of offshorewind transformers, compactsubstations(E‑House), andGIS/AISswitchgear.
• Strong analytical andproblem-solvingabilities.
• FamiliaritywithIEC60076-16(transformers forwindpower) and the IEC62271 series (switchgear).
• English: B1 or above-for collaboration within multinational teams.
