Job Summary:
As an Omnicell Field Service Technician (FST), you ensure the smooth operation of Omnicell's pharmacy and supply automation solutions. You are responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, repair services, and scheduled preventive maintenance at the customer's site. By working closely with customers, you build trust through your expertise, continuously develop innovative solutions, and carry out maintenance tasks precisely and efficiently. You work from home and visit customer sites according to prioritized schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and emergency servicing of Omnicell electromechanical products such as VBM blister machines and ADC safety cabinets.
  • Install and upgrade customer systems.
  • Complete and accurate documentation of service activities in compliance with Omnicell guidelines and procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies for response times and service levels to maintain a high standard of service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Professional communication with nursing and pharmacy staff at customer sites, serving as a key point of contact and company ambassador.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and oversee the material return process.
  • Provide feedback to hardware and software specialist teams regarding product malfunctions and suggestions for product improvements.
  • Participate in assigned projects and maintain a proactive approach toward achieving team and company goals.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and problem solving systems and equipment with the ability to effectively prioritize and assess and handle a wide range of customer issues.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, including knowledge of Windows and networks.
  • Strong organizational skills, for efficient management of service events and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service experience, with empathy, professionalism, and commitment in all interactions with Omnicell customers.
  • Intermediate/Fluent in English for verbal and written communication with international employees and occasionally customers.
  • Fluent/native German speaker, excellent written and spoken German communication skills, enabling clear and effective collaboration with customers and colleagues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Completed training in electrical or automation field. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering/technology or a related discipline; or five years of equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical or computer equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in network technology, robotics or electronics.
  • Experience with electronic and mechanical components.
  • Initial experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry / in a hospital environment would be of clear benefit.

Work Conditions

  • On-site travel in the primary area of operation, with the possibility of providing backup support in the DACH region if required (travel to Austria and/or Switzerland).
  • Willingness to attend multi-day training courses on the products.
  • Willingness to travel at short notice if required. Assignments may occasionally include overnight stays in hotel accommodation as required.
  • Class B driving license.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of loads up to approx. 10 kg.
