Job Description:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Field Service Engineer for the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) in North Germany, covering the Hamburg area. You will be responsible for on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex electron microscopy equipment, including TEM systems. Your role involves troubleshooting, customer training, inventory management, and ensuring high-quality service documentation.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting, repair, and installation of TEM Electron Microscopes.
  2. Provide on-site training on maintenance and operation.
  3. Manage local spare parts inventory.
  4. Coordinate with third-party service providers and follow up on service issues.
  5. Monitor customer contracts and schedule preventive maintenance.
  6. Complete and submit all service documentation accurately and promptly.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related scientific field; full TEM Electron Microscope education is equivalent to a BS degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of service experience in a related technical or customer-facing role preferred.
  • Proficiency in instrument systems technology, including electrical, mechanical, chemical, and software aspects.
  • Experience with electronics, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30%.
