As a Field Service Engineer for the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD), you will perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex equipment, investigate and approve equipment quality, instruct customers on operation and maintenance, and serve as a liaison on administrative and technical matters. You will also conduct on-site installations of electron microscopy systems and options.

A day in the life:

  • Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting, repair, and installation of TEM Electron Microscopes
  • Provide on-site training on maintenance and operation
  • Maintain local spare parts inventory
  • Dispatch third-party service providers and follow up on resolutions
  • Monitor customer contracts and schedule preventive maintenance
  • Complete all service documentation accurately and timely

Keys to success:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related scientific field
  • Knowledge of Electron Microscopes, full TEM education equivalent to BS degree
  • 5+ years of service experience preferred
  • Excellent customer relation and resource management skills
  • Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, chemistry, and software systems
  • Experience with electronics, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30%
