Zusammenfassung

Met T&S Ltd., the MAIRE group’s global employment arm, seeks a Welding Inspector for the Hamburg refinery expansion. You will verify welding procedures, NDE, PWHT, and post-weld testing, ensuring alignment with WPS/PQR standards and project specs.

The role requires CSWIP Level 2 and multiple Level 2 certifications, with at least five years in oil and gas EPC environments. Strong IT, analytical, and communicational skills are essential.

Qualifikationen

• University degree or diploma in a relevant discipline.
• CSWIP Level 2 certification (minimum).
• Three Level 2 Certifications such as VT, PT or MT, RT or UT.

Aufgaben

• Witness welding coupon and destructive tests on shop or lab for PQR prep.
• Support Home Office Welding Group for approval of PQR, WPS and PWHT procedures.
• Witness Subcontractor Welder Qualification process.
• Check welding material against approved WPS requirements.
• Ensure welding machines and ovens are calibrated continuously.
• Verify shop/field welds conform to project specs and WPS/PQR, NDE and PWHT.
• Oversee NDE tests, heat treatment and hardness testing.
• Ensure positive material identification tests are performed.
• Ensure welding activities and tests are recorded in the subcontractors’ welding database.
• Ensure repairs are performed correctly and non-destructive tests repeated as needed.
• Obtain approvals for deviations to welding procedures from Home Office Welding Group when required.
• Verify adequacy of information on NDE reports.

About the project/Role description

The project is planning the expansion of theexisting Hamburg Refinery, by adding the following process units andfacilities: HVO Unit, pre-treatment Unit, tank farm balance (tanks partiallysupplied by others), interconnecting lines, new electrical substation andrack room, interconnecting cables between new substation building andexisting substation and control room.

Welding Inspector verifies that welded joints,post-weld heat treatments and non-destructive tests are correctly performedaccording to the approved specifications prepared by the relevant engineeringdepartments and relevant approved Subcontractor’s documents (WeldingProcedure Specification_WPS_, Procedure Qualification Records_PQR, Post WeldHeat Treatment_PWHT_ and Non Destructive Examination_NDE Procedures)

Duties and responsibilities

• Towitness the welding coupon and destructive non-destructive testexecution on shop or at Laboratories for preparation of ProcedureQualification Record (PQR)
• Tosupport the Home office Welding Group during cycle for the approval ofProcedure Qualification Record (PQR), Welding Procedure Specification(WPS) and PWHT procedure.
• Towitness the Subcontractor Welder Qualification process
• Tocheck that welding material respects the requirements of the approvedWPS
• Tocheck that welding machines and ovens are continuously calibrated
• Tocheck that shop and field welds are performed in compliance with PROJECTspecifications and with approved WPS/PQR, NDE and PWHT Procedures, etc.
• Towitness the execution of non-destructive tests, heat treatment andhardness test
• Tocheck the execution of positive material identification test
• Togrant that welding activities and the tests are recorded bySubcontractors in the welding data base
• Tocheck that all repairs are performed correctly, and non-destructivetests are regularly repeated;
• Toobtain any necessary approval from Home Office Welding Group fordeviation, as appropriate, to welding procedures and for performingrepairs requiring special procedures;
• Toverify the adequacy of information on NDE Reports

Experience

• Experiencein the oil and gas industry
• Atleast 5 years relevant experience in a similar role
• Experiencein Gas Plants and EPC Projects
