Jobbeschreibung

At Oxford Instruments, we enable the world’s leading industrial companies and scientific research communities to image, analyse and manipulate materials down to the atomic and molecular level. With a sixty-year history, and fourteen Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, our world-class products and technologies are helping our customers to address the greatest challenges of the 21st century.

Plasma Technology, as a part ofOxford Instruments Group , offers flexible, configurable process tools and leading-edge processes for the precise, controllable and repeatable engineering of micro- and nanostructures. Our systems provide process solutions for the etching of nanometre sized features, nanolayer deposition and the controlled growth of nanostructures. These solutions are based on core technologies in plasma-enhanced deposition and etch, ion-beam deposition and etch, atomic layer deposition, deep silicon etch and physical vapour deposition.

To support the ongoing growth of our business we are hiring Field Process Engineer in one of our European offices ( Germany, the Netherlands, UK, France, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Italy) . The role is field-based and will mainly cover central and northern Europe.

Role Purpose

To ensure that Plasma Technology, our cutting-edge semiconductor equipment is fully functional and available for customer use, involving regular extensive travel.

Your Key Responsibilities would be :

  • Carry out Process acceptance and support visits as required within the EMEA.
  • Demonstrate process performance of tools installed at customer’s sites to pass customer acceptance tests and achieve system acceptance. This will involve foreign travel.
  • Carry out remote process work for tool acceptances and issue support, including acting as main customer contact for these acceptances.
  • Actively follow up all acceptances with customers to obtain signature of acceptance. Timely forwarding of these forms to Resource Controller, helpdesk and finance as required.
  • Develop an excellent working knowledge of the technology to facilitate fault-finding and root cause analysis on processing results or equipment performance to deliver optimised process and hardware performance.
  • Carry out customer training both at OIPT and at customer sites.
  • Liaise with the process department and development teams to gain a working knowledge of new processing requirements for new market technologies.
  • Liaise with Sales Team to provide useful background information.

You would be an ideal match if you have :

  • Masters level minimum in physics / chemistry / something closely related.
  • Significant experience of the semiconductor industry or relevant experience in an academic institution.
  • Thin film measuring skills (e.g. SEMS).
  • Self-starting, diligent and enthusiastic. A professional approach to working independently and managing your own time.
  • Highly innovative and good lateral thinking skills for identifying opportunities for technology development applications.
  • Focused on excellent customer service.
  • Good diagnostic skills and problem-solving abilities. Positive and enthusiastic attitude to technical challenges, and flexibility to cope effectively with changes to specifications or priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English. Able to articulate, present and report on technical or complex issues clearly and succinctly.
  • Driving licence.
  • Be prepared to extensive travel for up to 90.
