Via Transportation, Inc. is seeking a Field Manager to lead daily on-demand RMV operations in the greater Frankfurt area. You’ll manage field teams, coordinate drivers, and ensure safe, reliable service for riders on-site.

You’ll be hands-on, data-driven, and capable of guiding AI and automation initiatives to improve performance. German at C1 and a valid German Class B license are required. Strong communication with drivers, partners and Via central teams is essential.

As a Field Manager on Via’s Operations team, you are the force that keeps our services running reliably for the communities that depend on them. This is a high-ownership, boots-on-the-ground role where you’ll lead the daily operations of our on-demand RMV services across the greater Frankfurt area, tackle real-time challenges, and ensure our riders are transported safely and reliably.

A big part of the role is optimizing how our field team and service operate: using data to quickly answer operational questions, identify opportunities, improve processes, and lead AI and automation projects. You’ll have a unique opportunity to combine hands-on operations with innovation and help shape the future of on-demand passenger transportation in the region.

This role is based in the greater Frankfurt area, with the expectation that you will be on-site at least 3 days per week

What You’ll Do:

• Run daily onsite operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for our riders.
• Drive continuous optimization across the field team and service, leveraging data, technology, AI, and automation — including leading AI projects from idea to implementation.
• Make real-time decisions on fleet, driver supply, compliance, rider needs, and unexpected issues — using data to quickly diagnose problems and keep service running smoothly.
• Guide and support drivers, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities to improve field team performance.
• Turn rider and community feedback into actionable improvements, using data to spot patterns and address root causes.
• Act as the bridge between Via's partners, drivers, and Via central teams, quickly pulling data to answer questions, solve problems, and drive improvements.

Who You Are:

• Operationally experienced in people management, logistics, customer service, or other process-oriented work.
• Relationship-oriented and a strong communicator, able to build trust with drivers, riders, teammates, and city partners and find the right tone at every level.
• Hands-on and proactive, comfortable taking responsibility for employees, being in the field, and solving problems where they happen — even under pressure.
• Data-driven, structured, and digitally savvy, using analytics and AI tools to solve problems, prioritize effectively, and improve our services.
• Tactical and strategic, able to tackle issues in real time while thinking ahead and building solutions that prevent them from recurring.
• Your German language skills are at least C1 level and your English is fluent
• You have a valid drivers license in Germany, class B
