As a Field Application Engineer (FAE) focused on industrial applications, you will serve as a key technical partner to customers across industrial automation, energy, power systems, and related markets. You will work closely with customers and internal cross-functional teams to understand application requirements, recommend suitable semiconductor solutions, resolve technical challenges, and support projects from evaluation through design-in and Production Ramp-up.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining hands-on technical problem-solving with customer engagement and who wants to influence both customer success and future product development.
What You'll Do
- Lead technical engagement throughout the customer project life cycle, including product selection, technical evaluation, design review, debugging, application validation, and production ramp-up.
- Develop a strong understanding of customers' system architectures, application requirements, and technical challenges, and translate those needs into practical semiconductor solutions.
- Partner with Sales, Product Management, and R&D teams to deliver timely and effective customer success and to drive product adoption and Design Wins.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and application issues at both component and system level, helping customers identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Drive customer success across industrial automation, power electronics, renewable energy, energy storage, power supply, motor control, and other industrial applications.
- Drive market & competitive intelligence through customer engagement and gather customer feedback, application insights, and market intelligence, and communicate them internally to support product improvement and new product planning.
- Develop and maintain application notes, reference materials, technical presentations, case studies, and best-practice documentation.
- Lead technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions for customers, channel partners, and internal teams.
- Manage multiple customer projects in parallel and provide on-site technical support when required.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics, Automation, Telecommunications, or a related engineering discipline.
- Solid knowledge of analog and digital circuits, with a strong interest in semiconductor products and system-level applications.
- Hands-on experience in hardware debugging, application development, technical support, or a related engineering role.
- Ability to analyze technical problems systematically and communicate clear, practical recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with commonly used electronic development and test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and related debugging tools.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and customer-facing skills, with the ability to work effectively across Sales, Product, and R&D teams.
- Strong ownership, learning agility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Willingness to provide on-site customer success and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial control, power supplies, renewable energy, solar and energy storage, motor drives, or power electronics.
- Experience with analog ICs, isolation products, power management ICs, sensors, or related semiconductor products.
- Experience supporting customer product development from initial evaluation through design-in and Production Ramp-up.
- Experience working with distributors, channel partners, or a broad industrial customer base.
