Position Overview

Victim Advocates are essential for providing victim advocacy services and Emergency Placement Care (EPC) coordination to support the prevention and education of domestic violence and juvenile problematic sexual behavior under the Army Family Advocacy Program. This includes 24/7 victim advocacy response and EPC coordination within Army Community Services (ACS).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related fields. Victim Advocacy certification preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience supporting victims of domestic abuse, including crisis intervention, safety assessment, legal rights, and resource navigation.
  • At least one year of experience working with military Family Support Centers or civilian social service agencies serving military families.
  • Knowledge of family violence dynamics, safety planning, local resources, and relevant laws.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate empathy, and work with diverse populations.
  • Valid driver’s license and transportation required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide 24/7 on-call victim advocacy, including immediate contact within 20 minutes of notification.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and facilitate access to medical, legal, and support services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and data entry.
  • Develop and update informational resources for victims in English and Spanish.
  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions for military personnel, families, and community partners.
  • Arrange EPC placements for families in crisis, ensuring appropriate matching and support.
