JOB OPENING

  • Title: Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Educator
  • Location: Army Community Service (ACS), Ansbach
  • Start date: Immediately
  • Job Type: Part-Time On-Call (PTOC)

PTOC: Hourly flexible substitute and replacement personnel for planned and unplanned absences at the FAP office. Personnel should be available on short notice.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social science from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience instructing children and adults in life skills topics, such as developing appropriate expectations, relationships, and interactions in educational settings.
  • Experience working with reluctant participants, such as alcoholics, prisoners, or welfare recipients in mandated programs.
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing); ability to communicate effectively in English, evidenced by education or references.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and email; at least one year of experience using these in a military or office setting, such as Army ACS.
  • Knowledge of the military system and military family lifestyle.
  • Knowledge of the Army Family support system and ACS programs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Conduct FAP briefings and classes on a scheduled, monthly basis covering topics such as:
  1. Family Advocacy Program Overview
  2. Unit Troop Briefing on child abuse, domestic violence, and available resources
  3. Child Abuse Identification and Reporting for caregivers
  4. Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth (PSB CY) for CYS and DoDEA staff
  5. Life Skills classes promoting resilience and healthy coping skills
  6. Couples Communication skills
  7. Parenting Education for positive parenting techniques
  8. Community Outreach activities, including radio spots, community events, and partnering with other agencies
  9. Development of new classes as needed, with provided materials
  10. Data entry into the Client Tracking System within three days of training
  11. Coordinate with the FAP Manager for content improvements
  12. Use ICE website to measure customer satisfaction
  13. Work hours include weekdays, occasional evenings, and Saturdays as needed
  14. Update curricula and training aids as necessary
  15. Compile monthly training statistics

DOCPER/SOFA/Logistical Support Status

This position is not supported under NATO SOFA articles 72 or 73.
