Join our team as Facilities Operations Manager in Monheim, Germany, or Leiden, Netherlands. You will play a key role in shaping the future of work and delivering a best-in-class associate experience for more than 10,000 employees in Europe – all while contributing to keep Ecolab a Great Place to Work.
The role provides high-level support to the organization and internal customers, bringing proactive, modern, and sustainable solutions to our office locations. The Facilities Cluster Manager also plays a major role in co-piloting our sustainability journey: Protecting what’s vital!
Here are some key responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop the local facilities team across different sites throughout Europe.
- Develop a customer-focused culture (internal and external) within the teams and strive to improve the user experience of Ecolab associates.
- Manage external vendors in the facility space on a regional level.
- Ensure reliable and safe operation of Ecolab office facilities, including mailrooms, receptions, restaurants, and related services, including procurement of supplies.
- Coordinate installation, repair, and preventive maintenance for our facilities.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations.
- Implement and maintain sustainability programs (e.g., waste reduction, energy conservation, low-carbon transportation, fleet electrification).
- Participate actively in the Facility Safety Management Review Board with Safety Champions.
- Manage landlord relationships.
- Respond to emergencies and develop local procedures for issue resolution and continuity planning.
- Experience in managing external vendors (cleaning, maintenance, reception services).
- Prepare annual budgets and CAPEX plans; monitor expenses against budgets in partnership with Business Analysts.
- Plan, manage, and execute construction projects within the cluster.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a fast-paced international environment.
- A degree in Facility Management, Architecture, Engineering, or Project Management.
- Experience in project management and large-scale construction projects is advantageous.
- Experience with implementing facility vendors at a regional level.
- Excellent communication skills in English and German or Dutch; fluency in another language is a plus.
- Team-oriented and customer service-focused.
- Ability to multitask, coordinate, and prioritize effectively.
- Well-organized and structured.
- High tact and discretion.
- Ownership-driven.
- Willingness to travel within Europe as needed.
