The Professorship of Empirical Methods in Social Research works on how to use cutting-edge research methods in order to better understand some of the main issues in society and politics today, such as political participation and representation, social media political communication, and radical politics. We are looking for a student assistant with an interest in quantitative methods and their applications to social issues to assist in various projects. We offer the chance to get first-hand experience in research projects, the opportunity to improve or develop your quantitative methods and statistical software skills, and participation in an international research team.
Job description:
- collect, process, and manage social sciences data
- support the team with organizing teaching and events
- perform literature reviews and summaries
Desirable:
- enrolled in Sociology/Political Science or a related field
- good academic achievements, particularly in methods
- experience with the R statistical software or Python
- motivation, commitment, and ability to work independently
- fluent written and spoken English (C1)
- willingness to learn advanced data management procedures in R or Python
