Zusammenfassung

CYBEX, a global leader in child safety and lifestyle fashion, invites a Senior Material Sourcing Lead to join our Bayreuth team. You will lead the development and sourcing of fabrics, trims, labels, packaging and other materials for apparel collections, aligning with product vision, performance, quality and cost objectives.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Management, Material Science, Product Development, or related field.
  • Several years of professional experience in fabric, material, trim development, sourcing, or product development within fashion or lifestyle industries.
  • Strong knowledge of textile construction, fibers, yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, washing, and finishing processes.
  • Experience managing fabric mills, trim suppliers, and global sourcing partners.
  • Understanding product creation calendars, critical path management, and apparel manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with PLM, ERP, and material management systems.
  • Knowledge of textile testing standards, product compliance, and sustainability certifications.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills preferred.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.

Aufgaben

  • Lead development and sourcing of fabrics, trims, labels, packaging, and other material components for apparel collections, aligning with vision, functionality, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Partner with Design and Product Development to identify and develop materials that support concepts, performance requirements, and strategy.
  • Manage seasonal material libraries and PLM documentation, ensuring accurate specifications, material approvals, and readiness in line with product milestones.
  • Ensure all fabrics, trims, and materials meet performance, quality, testing, compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with mills, fabric and trim suppliers, and innovation partners; negotiate costs, lead times, MOQs, and development commitments.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, quality performance, and sustainability initiatives while driving optimization and sourcing efficiency.
  • Manage material development timelines and critical paths across multiple product categories; ensure delivery of samples, lab dips, strike-offs, and testing submissions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to material availability, supplier capacity, quality, lead times, and other dependencies.
  • Support margin targets through material costing, value engineering, and strategic material selection while maintaining design integrity.
  • Drive sustainable material initiatives by identifying recycled, certified, organic, and lower-impact alternatives in line with sustainability goals.
  • Act as a material expert and key stakeholder across Design, Product Development, Quality, Product Management, and Operations; support seasonal kick-offs and milestone meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement across material development and sourcing processes; ensure specifications, approvals, and documentation are completed in time for Go-to-Market readiness.

Your seat to fill:
  • Lead the development and sourcing of fabrics, trims, labels, packaging, and other material components for apparel collections, ensuring alignment with product vision, functionality, quality, and cost objectives

  • Ensure all fabrics, trims, and material components meet required performance, quality, testing, compliance, and regulatory standards
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with mills, fabric and trim suppliers, and innovation partners, including negotiation of costs, lead times, MOQs, and development commitments
