Jobbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel for Export Control & Sanctions to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining an Internal Compliance Program (ICP) for Export Control and Sanctions, including the implementation of global policies and standards. This role involves advising senior management and the board, providing legal counseling to various departments, engaging in project work, and monitoring regulatory developments.

The position can be staffed in Hanover, Frankfurt am Main, or Szeged (Hungary).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Internal Compliance Program (ICP) Development: Develop and maintain an ICP for Export Control and Sanctions, ensuring alignment with global policies and standards.
2. Senior Management and Board Advisory: Provide strategic legal advice and guidance on Export Control and Sanctions compliance.
3. Legal Counseling: Offer legal advice to Centers of Competence, business units, and central functions such as R&D, M&A, and Finance.
4. Project Work: Support projects related to Export Control and Sanctions.
5. Regulatory Watch: Monitor and analyze regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
6. Information Management: Manage and disseminate information related to compliance.
7. Training Development: Develop and deliver training on Export Control and Sanctions compliance.
8. External Communication: Engage with political entities, ministries, authorities, associations, and external counsel regarding relevant matters.

Qualifications:

1. Fully qualified and accredited lawyer with a strong academic background.
2. Several years of professional experience, including legislative work and proceedings.
3. Knowledge in policy and procedure development.
4. Experience with public authorities (beneficial).
5. Excellent knowledge of EU law and profound knowledge of US (Re)Export Control and Sanctions law.
6. Experience as a lawyer (internal or external).
7. Experience in developing an EC Internal Compliance Program.
8. Experience with international EC working groups or organizations (beneficial).
9. Fluent in English; German skills are beneficial.
10. Independent working style, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
