PowerCo is seeking an Expert in Value Engineering for Cathode Active Materials to support our new battery cell production initiative. This role will encompass responsibilities ranging from cost analysis and engineering to supplier negotiations, ensuring efficiency and optimization in our production processes. Ideal candidates will have a strong educational background in electrochemistry or chemistry, alongside relevant industry experience.

• Experience in process & equipment engineering of chemical plants.
• In-depth understanding of cathode material and Li-ion cell technology.
• Fluent in English, basic German communication.

The Purchasing unit is the interface to the supplier market and is responsible for a large part of the value creation. Responsibilities range from raw material purchasing to supplier management and plant purchasing to value engineering.

How You Will CELLebrate

• Bottom-up costing for Cathode Active Material (CAM) production
• Cost estimation for key equipment of CAM production
• Design-to-cost for CAM production process including equipment
• Identification of technical and commercial levers in CAM material design and manufacturing
• Value chain analysis and optimization from raw material processing to CAM production
• Negotiation support for CAM purchasing projects
• Support for JV activities (e.g., cost levers in business models)

What You Need For Our CELLebration

• Successfully completed (under)graduate degree in electrochemistry/chemistry or similar education
• Experience in process & equipment engineering of chemical plants, equipment, and project cost estimation and optimization
• Equipment/process engineering, costing methods, especially investment
• In-depth understanding of cathode material and Li-ion cell technology
• Language: English fluent, German basic communication
• Analytical skills as well as negotiation skills
