JOIN OUR TEAM
As Expert Lead Product Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, technical enhancement, and optimisation of our product portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards in functionality, aesthetics, durability, and cost-efficiency. This role requires expertise in engineering principles, material selection, manufacturing processes, and project management. The position is unlimited and based in Munich.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Define product requirements and specifications with stakeholders
- Develop and test prototypes, ensuring functionality, performance, and manufacturability
- Create technical drawings and resolve design challenges to optimise product performance
- Bridge the gap between product design and technical functionality for feasible, high-quality constructions
- Evaluate commercial impact, balancing innovation, cost-efficiency, and market competitiveness
- Drive efficiency in the development pipeline to ensure high project throughput
- Manage project deadlines, resources, and cross-functional collaboration for seamless development
- Conduct rigorous testing, analyse results, and implement necessary design/process improvements
- Work with manufacturing teams to optimise production processes, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Use customer feedback and industry insights to drive continuous improvement and innovation
YOU COME WITH
- 7+ years of experience in product development or engineering, preferably in furniture and lighting
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial/Product Design, or related field
- Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools
- Strong knowledge of materials (wood, metal, polymers, glass), manufacturing processes
- Experience with agile development and ISO/Six Sigma
- Expertise in sustainable materials and eco-friendly design, ergonomics, and human-centric design principles in furniture
- Understanding of market research and customer insights
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus
