To embed essential strategic capabilities, Q Energy is seeking to hire a highly skilled and dedicated professional to lead and implement the company's offtake strategy, revenue modeling, and market participation approach.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and executing optimal offtake strategies (e.g., corporate PPAs, utility PPAs, merchant exposure, Fixed profile vs. PaP, stand-alone vs. hybrid asset) tailored to project-specific and market-specific conditions.
- Conducting in-depth analysis of the Spanish and Portuguese power markets, including wholesale pricing, balancing/reserve markets, and capacity mechanisms.
- Leading revenue modeling and scenario analysis for projects under development and sell-down processes.
- Providing commercial input into investment decisions, asset valuation, and risk assessment.
- Collaborating with internal teams (Development, EPC, O&M, Asset management) and external advisors to support road-to-market strategies.
- Representing Q Energy in market-facing discussions with off-takers, traders, and grid operators as needed.
- Developing PPA strategies reflecting the hybridization of different technologies.
Minimum requirements include:
- At least 5 years of experience negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy.
- Proven experience in the Iberian electricity markets (Spain/Portugal), including PPA deal execution, with a solid understanding of OMIE, REE, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- A strong understanding of market trends in this sector and a robust network among key PPA stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and revenue analysis using Excel, Python, or other analytical tools.
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as German or Spanish are advantageous.
- If not based in Berlin, willingness to travel regularly to our headquarters.
