The purpose of an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineering Expert is to design, implement, and maintain secure and efficient systems for managing digital identities within an organization based on defined requirements. The role supports the development and maintenance of IAM solutions to ensure proper authorization and identity governance. The IAM Engineering Expert plays a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive information, enforcing access policies, and enhancing overall cybersecurity posture.
Key Tasks
- Support the design and implementation of robust identity and access management solutions encompassing user authorization and directory services.
- Design and develop the entire lifecycle of digital identities within the organization, including user provisioning, deprovisioning, and role-based access control.
- Support infrastructure and engineering teams to maintain the Identity and Access Management platform in operational condition.
- Ensure efficient onboarding and offboarding processes while maintaining data accuracy and compliance.
- Implement security controls, monitor for suspicious activities, and contribute to the organization’s overall cybersecurity strategy to protect against unauthorized access.
- Configure and manage access policies to ensure proper user permissions.
- Understand security protocols, encryption, and industry standards related to IAM.
- Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address IAM-related issues.
- Investigate and resolve incidents, analyze access patterns, and implement corrective measures.
- Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and end-users regarding IAM policies, procedures, and access-related matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT security and business units to understand and address IAM requirements.
- Adjust strategies and approaches in response to changes in technology, security threats, or organizational priorities.
- Utilize strong problem-solving skills to analyze IAM-related issues and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain familiarity with compliance requirements and implement IAM solutions that align with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in information security, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in information security, IT, or cybersecurity with expertise in IAM.
- Professional experience in the wholesale/retail industry is desirable.
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing access controls and authorization mechanisms.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing IGA solutions, including SSO, MFA, Identity Governance and Administration, and directory services (e.g., LDAP, Active Directory).
- Expertise in designing and implementing access control mechanisms such as RBAC and ABAC.
- Hands-on experience with identity lifecycle processes, including user provisioning, deprovisioning, and modifications.
- Experience in identity synchronization, data validation, and maintaining accurate identity repositories.
