Experienced System Safety Engineer (d / f / m)

We are seeking a skilled System Safety Engineer to ensure Airbus products are developed, designed, produced, and supported in accordance with the latest safety standards and airworthiness regulations. The role involves maintaining vehicle safety throughout its lifecycle, considering Human Factors and operational aspects.

This position is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  1. Lead and conduct safety assessments (Functional Hazard Assessment, System Safety Assessment, etc.) for military aircraft and systems, supporting phases until certification.
  2. Perform risk analyses to support continuous aircraft development, including Permit to Fly and Type Certification.
  3. Develop safety requirements, safety evidence, safety procedures, and limitations; interface with other technical domains.
  4. Influence aircraft and system architecture development to ensure safety and integrity.
  5. Serve as the main safety interface with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Continuously improve analysis tools and processes.
  7. Support quotations and planning activities.
  8. Mentor and support new Safety Engineers.
Desired skills and qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in safety or similar environments.
  • Comprehensive experience with System Safety Assessments and safety tools like FaultTree+.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, preferably combat aircraft and system engineering processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Good communication skills; problem-solving abilities are desirable.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
  • Eligibility for security clearance or ability to obtain one.
