Our mission is to elevate these studios' potential from early development to independence by providing comprehensive advisory services across production, publishing, technology, and more.

What the Role Entails

Tencent Venture Lab is seeking an Executive Producer to join our team. You will provide crucial production support and advisory to our portfolio companies, driving quality outcomes through your expertise in collaboration, organizational structuring, and efficient processes in production. This role offers the opportunity to enhance the performance of innovative game development studios worldwide. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with deep game development knowledge, strategic thinking, and exceptional leadership skills, passionate about delivering high-quality entertainment experiences.

Responsibilities

1. Work with executive teams of European portfolio studios to align strategic product planning, franchise, and lifecycle management with business goals and investment objectives.
2. Provide insights on market & industry trends to guide strategic investments. Monitor and analyze the performance of portfolio companies from a product perspective to ensure maximum ROI.
3. Drive game quality collaboratively, partner with essential team members to create an organizational structure and processes that enable efficient high-quality production on time and within budget.
4. Ensure effective project tracking processes are in place, including milestone reviews and feedback sessions. Collaborate with development teams on production-related issues and challenges.
5. Prepare and communicate project status updates regularly to management.
6. Contribute to GAAS and innovation promotion initiatives.
7. Serve as a mentor to the executive teams within portfolio companies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions to share knowledge and best practices.

Who We Look For

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Game Design, Project Management, or a related field.
2. 15+ years of experience as a Senior or Executive Producer or VP of Development, with a proven track record of developing and successfully shipping games on multiple platforms.
3. Leadership experience in setting strategic direction, with outstanding organizational skills.
4. Experience managing production teams, ideally across medium-large teams or development studios, both locally and globally.
5. Strong understanding of project management concepts, tools, and approaches, with the ability to tailor methods to team needs.
6. Experience delivering multiple high-quality entertainment experiences, with an understanding of player motivations and innovation assessment.
7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Deep knowledge of performance optimization techniques and technology trends. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
8. Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the gaming industry. Strategic thinker with a proactive problem-solving approach. Collaborative team player.
