Executive Director of Finance & Sustainability

Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, IN | Full-Time | Exempt

Join a mission-driven team dedicated to financial stewardship and long-term sustainability in support of the Sisters of St. Francis’ charitable and spiritual mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary leadership to all finance and advancement operations, integrating Franciscan values in budgeting, planning, and donor engagement.

  • Oversee accounting, annual budgeting, investments, and fiscal management, including audits and asset oversight.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate financial strategies and advancement plans to ensure organizational sustainability.

  • Guide donor cultivation and fundraising initiatives, including major campaigns and ongoing stewardship.

  • Lead and mentor a dedicated finance and advancement staff, fostering collaboration with the Executive and Leadership Teams.

  • Represent the mission in key meetings and support cross-functional goals.

Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in finance, accounting, or business-related field; nonprofit fundraising experience a plus.

  • 6+ years of progressive financial management and/or advancement experience (ideally in nonprofit sector).

  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, financial reporting, grants, and audits.

  • Excellent communicator who can translate financial concepts for diverse audiences.

  • Commitment to Franciscan values, with a strong sense of integrity and mission alignment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of accounting or fundraising software preferred.

Full-time, 40 hours/week at the Oldenburg Motherhouse; some hybrid and evening/weekend work may be required.
