Hurtigruten is seeking an Expedition Coordinator to join the Expedition Team on board our ships along the Norwegian coast. You will organise and coordinate the excursion elements, focusing on the guest experience and commercial success of the excursion program.

Responsibilities include sales and coordination of excursions, maintaining information via onboard channels, liaising with suppliers, booking activities, and collaborating with the Expedition Team and land operations.

Qualifikationen

• Higher relevant education; experience may substitute.
• Experience in adventure- or nature-based tourism.
• Sales experience.
• Good knowledge of the Norwegian coast and culture.
• Good computer skills.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willingness to complete STCW safety courses and health certificate

About Hurtigruten:

Hurtigruten is a Norwegian shipping and travel company that sails the legendary coastal route between Kirkenes and Bergen, often referred to as "the world's most beautiful sea voyage." In addition to the traditional route, Hurtigruten also offers signature routes such as the North Cape Line, the Svalbard Line, and Hamburg-North Cape, with a fleet of ten ships in total. The Excursion Coordinator (EC) is part of the Expedition Team and reports to the Expedition Leader (EL) on board.

Duties and responsibilities:

• The main function of EC is the organization and coordination of the expedition elements on board with the main focus of the excursion program. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for sales and coordination of Hurtigruten's excursion program
• Keep a high commercial focus with excursion presentations and other promotional activities as well as ensure that the right information gets out via the onboard sales channels
• Daily contact with our suppliers and partners along the coast
• Responsible for booking/cancelling excursions and transport needs
• Take part in the planning and implementation of programs and activities in collaboration with the Expedition Team
• Assist in the delivery of information meetings and other activities on board and ashore.
• Responsible for communicating with guests via the ship's PA facility
• Responsible for collaboration with external tour-leaders & groups
• Cooperate with Hurtigruten's land organization

Qualifications/Experience:

• Higher relevant education. Relevant experience can replace the educational requirement
• Work experience in adventure- or nature-based tourism
• Sales experience
• Good knowledge of the Norwegian coast, and generally good knowledge of Norwegian society, culture and history
• Good computer skills
• Language requirements: Fluent in German and English
• All employees must have Basic safety course for seafarers STCW AV/1-1, 1-2, 1-1, 1-4, Crowd and Crises management course STCW AV/2, and approved health certificate from authorized seafarer doctor. There is no requirement to have completed the courses before applying, but you must be willing to take them.
