Role Overview: Event Manager

The Event Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and executing tradeshows, webinars/virtual events, customer events, and other event types as determined by the business. The role involves project management and driving results through subject matter expertise.

This position is part of a high-energy, fast-moving events team, responsible for identifying, planning, and implementing a variety of physical and digital event programs, including tradeshows, customer/partner events, product launches, thought leadership sessions, media/analyst briefings, and Cytiva’s own conferences. The goal is to meet business objectives through effective event execution. The role requires strong planning, project management, and budgeting skills, along with solid lead tracking experience.

This role reports to the Global Events Leader and is part of the Marketing Communications organization within Global Group Marketing, working remotely across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire event lifecycle: planning, implementation, follow-up, and debriefing
• Handle event contracting and project management
• Execute on-site event activities
• Analyze and act on event data to improve future events
• Ensure compliance with finance and procurement processes (IPP, PIA, PO submissions, vendor setup)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
• Experience managing tradeshows and events
• Detail-oriented, meticulous, and able to work autonomously
• Creative problem-solving skills for multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Travel & Physical Requirements:

• Ability to travel internationally (15-35%)
• Ability to lift and move 40 lb. boxes
• Sufficient mobility for extended travel schedules

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with inventory management software such as Exhibitforce.com
• Understanding of life sciences, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries
