Overview

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an Event Coordinator, Soft Services to join our Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL.

The Event Coordinator is responsible for planning and managing events of various sizes and purposes, including corporate meetings across the MMS campus. This role ensures all aspects of an event run smoothly and meet the goals and expectations of the organization.

The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities helps assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. You’ll be surrounded by colleagues who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality.

Nearby on “Airbus Way” you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry and supports Airbus’ global strategy to meet growing customer needs.

Your challenges

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day facility operations: 75%
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and customers
  • Planning event details and aspects, including furniture setup, room availability, food service and guest management
  • Processing invoices in a timely manner and overseeing budget spend and tracking
  • Managing events and addressing potential problems
  • Maintaining knowledge of the needs of a wide variety of events
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
  • Serving as the main point of contact for FMRE for vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Managing event-related communications, invitations, and promotional materials
  • Developing event timelines and schedules to ensure timely delivery of all components
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and local ordinances
  • Analyze and improve service delivery: 15%

  • Recommend and manage initiatives to increase and improve service delivery considering cost and quality - KPI Management

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned: 10%
Your qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-4 years experience in event planning or coordination
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: ability to network with a wide variety of entities, establish vendors and venues, and manage staff for events
  • Team Management: ability to delegate and lead a team
  • Budgeting: ability to manage costs within budgets and produce reports
  • Logistics: ability to plan details and anticipate problems
  • Travel required: 10% Domestic
Physical requirements
  • Must be able to traverse office facilities across the MMS campus
  • Vision: adequate to read on computer screens and recognize individuals for greetings and directions
  • Hearing: able to engage in conversation and hear safety alerts
  • Speaking: able to communicate with groups of varying sizes
  • Carrying: up to 20 lbs

  • Pushing/Pulling: able to move items in office and shop areas
