Mission Title: Evening Service Leader - Flagship Store
Location: Flagship Store in Brunswick, Maine
Status: 40 hours a week
Pay: $26-32/hr plus tips, and expanded benefits negotiable including profit sharing and bonus time off
We’re seeking front-of-house nighttime service leaders at our Flagship Store in Brunswick. You will learn all aspects of FOH operations, including our distinctive customer service approach. Your role is heavily focused on serving customers and making sure that Gelato Fiasco’s high service standard is being met by you and your colleagues for each and every customer during your shift.
The role is similar to a frontline shift leader, but expanded in its consistent focus on evening service, expectation for mastery of Gelato Fiasco service standards, and role mentoring coworkers. You will not be scheduling or making hiring or discipline decisions, but will be training coworkers utilizing our training checklists, supporting coworkers in using our operations checklists, and reporting performance to the store manager and company-wide general manager. You'll be in constant contact with these two managers about making the evening shift the best it can be.
To do this job, you must love to serve customers, be comfortable leading coworkers to meet pre-set standards, be fine with cleaning and store takedown tasks, and wish to work an evening and weekends schedule. Our target is approximately 40 hours a week year-round, from approximately 4 or 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., which includes store closedown at the end of the night. If you prefer 30 hours, that's fine too. Overtime is not expected or required, although there are generally opportunities for overtime during shoulder season if you want it.
Pay is $26-32/hour plus tips. Profit sharing and bonus personal time can be considered for this position. Health insurance options through Harvard Pilgrim are available at 60 days, and 401k match is available after one year of service.
Minimum requirements:
- At least one year of exemplary customer service experience required in a customer-focused and busy food or retail environment.
- Be kind at all times. Show poise, presence, and professionalism.
- Must have a team-oriented mindset.
- Being “coachable” is absolutely required.
- Must be a warm, friendly, and confident communicator.
- Understand the importance of using checklists and following processes, and how doing so helps support goals and provide consistency for fellow staff members.
Skills/abilities required:
- Ability to calmly and kindly guide coworkers to collaboratively meet expectations around amazing customer service and store cleanliness.
- Desire to scoop dishes, cones, and pints of the highest quality gelato and sorbetto with attention to detail.
- Focus on delighting customers with engaged hospitality in a fast-paced environment.
- Fully participate in the theater of our work, understanding how your actions "on stage" contribute to the experience of our customers.
- Desire to learn Gelato Fiasco's unique approach to customer service.
- Ability to problem solve issues that come up during your shift.
In exchange for your talents and commitment, you’ll receive excellent pay, benefits, free coffee, free gelato, and fast-paced and fun work at the Flagship Store of a Maine-owned company. Gelato Fiasco has been featured in Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, the Wall Street Journal, and O: The Oprah Magazine, and was named Maine's Best Ice Cream in Down East Magazine's Readers' Choice awards several times.
