Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Optimize the four European assets in Cologne – two Acrylonitrile assets and one Ammonia asset - driving maximization of contribution /te of products with positive impact on EBITDA and cash flow.
- Lead and be responsible for all commercial activities relating to the Ammonia & Nitric Acid business including sales, procurement, and supply chain.
- Manage the loading of the Ammonia asset and increase EBITDA by proactively identifying additional sales opportunities.
- Lead decisions on Acrylonitrile asset utilization and supply chain.
- Determine the best allocation of resources across fixed costs, capex, and investment in working capital and projects.
- Directly influence and support development of mid-term and long-term business strategy and get endorsement by Nitriles Board. Execute agreed strategy for the different European businesses.
- Directly influence the short-term (annual budget) and long-term business plan (5-year business strategy) for Nitriles Europe via a deep understanding of the market structure (global supply/demand), asset production capability, and the available production margins.
- Lead, influence, and support the commercial management of European growth investment projects.
- Support Ammonia related activities/projects within Nitriles at a global scale.
- Manage the economical and production complexities of the connected and interdependent assets.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the Acrylonitrile and Ammonia markets to assess short-term and long-term market changes and dynamics.
- Identify opportunities for business development and lead/support related projects.
- Represent and lead Nitriles’ European commercial interests on the Köln site and externally across the European supply chain.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 15 years of commercial/business experience.
- Wide knowledge of and expertise in all major functions associated with the chemical industry.
- Proven track record in supply chain optimization and effective negotiation with third parties.
- Experience in project management and plant operations.
- Excellent communicator with high influencing and challenging skills.
- Experience motivating and leading teams with a record of sustained success.
- Highly analytical with the ability to quickly assimilate information, draw conclusions, and make decisions and recommendations.
