EUROPEAN PATENT ATTORNEY (M/W/D)
Specializing in organic chemistry

Full-time / Unlimited Position / 50% mobile work possible

Novaled GmbH is the world's leading supplier of specialist chemicals for use in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Novaled's products can be found in most AMOLED displays, including smartphones, tablets, TVs and smartwatches. Novaled's main shareholder is Samsung SDI.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

To further strengthen our IP team, we are looking for a European Patent Attorney for the following tasks:

• In close collaboration with the R&D department, identify new inventions and convert these into registered IP rights, incl. responsibility for examination and granting procedures at the patent offices.
• Defense of own patents against oppositions/invalidation procedures and attack of 3rd party IP rights, in particular in Korea and China.
• Ensure freedom-to-operate for new products for the international market, including identification of potential risks and implementation of appropriate counter-measures.
• You are keen to become an expert in the field of organic electronics (OLEDs, photovoltaics, photodetectors, etc.) if you are not yet familiar with the topic.

YOUR PROFILE:

• You have a university degree in chemistry, ideally specialising in organic and/or organometallic chemistry.
• You are a fully qualified European Patent Attorney with at least 5 years relevant experience in the field of international patent law in an international patent law firm.
• In-depth knowledge of US, Korean and/or Chinese patent law is an advantage.
• You possess very good communication skills and are able to present complex legal issues in a simple and intelligible manner.
• You display a high level of responsibility, reliability and integrity.
• You are a team-orientated and pragmatic person who works proactively, independently, with a "hands-on" approach, and at the same time with a high degree of accuracy.
• You are proficient in MS Office and fluent in English (verbally and in writing). Basic German is desirable. Knowledge of Korean or Chinese is an advantage but not a requirement.

The position is to be filled immediately. The hours are 40 hours per week. Please state your availability and salary expectations (gross annual salary) in your application.
