Jobbeschreibung

Amazon is seeking Site Process Engineers to work in the EU Process Engineering (EU PE) team. The Site Process Engineer is an onsite position.

The EU PE team is a group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement for the EU Customer Fulfillment Network. This team is essential to establish best-in-class process performance across various processes, accelerate technological advancements, and strengthen technical and process knowledge for operational leaders across the FC network. EU PE ensures operations teams are equipped with the necessary expertise to deliver gains from technology and process improvements.

The team focuses on process control and performance consistency across shifts, regions, and buildings to ensure strong operational performance. They collaborate closely with Process System Engineering (PSE), ACES PM, Central Ops, launch teams, operations engineering, and RME teams to improve process input metrics by prioritizing resources effectively.

The Site Process Engineer works alongside the FC Senior Leadership Team and maintains high collaboration with EU PE functions. This role involves deploying initiatives, building networks within the FC, and ensuring compliance with timelines. The engineer initiates and implements EU-wide improvement activities, demonstrating ownership, detailed understanding of initiatives, and influencing results to achieve productivity and efficiency gains.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Identify top improvement opportunities within the FC by analyzing processes starting from the bottom 50%, focusing on input metrics gaps compared to benchmarks, and implementing action plans with local operations teams.
  2. Oversee the FC improvement program, prioritize focus areas aligned with FC leadership, analyze process performance, and convert insights into tangible improvement plans.
  3. Review open Action Plans weekly, engage stakeholders for completion, and ensure targets are met.
  4. Collaborate with central PE functions and regional Site PEs for process clarification and benchmarking to reduce variation across FCs.
  5. Drive continuous improvement by implementing network best practices, capturing FC innovations, and integrating large-scale projects into the Operating Plan.
  6. Deploy EU network initiatives within the FC, ensuring timely execution and compliance, supporting test and pilot phases to avoid delays.
  7. Partner with FC Ops by participating in daily floor Gemba walks, organizing weekly leadership meetings, and building strong relationships with site leadership for initiative buy-in.
  8. Support or lead EU Projects, expanding scope and coordinating across multiple FCs to enhance project management skills and stakeholder engagement.
  9. During Q4, support site management operations as needed.
  10. Travel as required within the area of responsibility, estimated at 0-10%, subject to change.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in English and German at C1 level (Common European Framework)
  • Experience in Operations as Area Manager or similar role
  • High technical knowledge of at least one Fulfillment process path (e.g., Quriosity silver/gold certification)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
  • Knowledge of change management and continuous improvement practices
  • Excellent communication and detail orientation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivational leadership skills
