To support this focus area, Amazon is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join the Safety Engineering team supporting International Operations.

Key job responsibilities

The individual will play a critical role to ensure high standards of safety are built into systems and processes across new and legacy Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers, and Delivery Stations outside of North America. The successful candidate will validate vendor proposed technical safety solutions and work in partnership with internal engineering and reliability maintenance teams to ensure right first time, legally compliant safety standards for equipment. Knowledge of EU machinery safety regulations, robotics, and automated conveyor systems is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting a wide range of projects, including the Capital Approval Review process, and liaising with Engineering, Reliability, Maintenance, Operations, Procurement, and New Build teams.
  2. Defining and updating technical standards for machinery safety and process controls, working closely with EU and North American experts.
  3. Supporting procurement, building design, and safety standards to ensure 'right first time' safety outcomes.
  4. Providing expert input to change projects, build-outs, and development projects as a machinery safety expert.
  5. Generating technical updates and reports on projects, risks, and status.
  6. Performing machinery inspections, risk assessments, and mentoring team members.
  7. Developing safety solutions that meet Amazon's high standards, and instructing personnel on safety policies.
  8. Researching industry innovations for safer machinery and inspection techniques.
  9. Training stakeholders on machinery safety and risk reduction to influence strategic and operational decisions.
Qualifications
