In order to manage current and future projects, Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwörth as soon as possible as our new Helicopter Vehicle Physical Integration Responsible Engineer (VPI) (d/f/m).
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours (30) and an adapted scope of tasks.
Have you ever wanted to gain a global view of Helicopters and be in contact with different interfaces within the company (Research and Development, Manufacturing, Support and Services, Marketing, Offers, Sales, etc.) while working in an engineering function?
Are you looking for career evolution within Architecture, Design & Development or Project Management?
Further, you are a good communicator, able to make compromises, arbitrate between engineering functions, develop people’s commitment, and manage a project. Then the Vehicle Architecture department is right for you! You will join the Integration & Standardization department, dedicated to Physical Architecture & Integration Activities. This position is intended to work on our NH90 helicopter development projects.
You will be responsible for managing the integration process of the complete vehicle to get the best integration results taking into account all functional and physical constraints of all systems, industrialisation constraints, and maintainability.
Within your perimeter, you will be accountable for integration maturity within the development milestones, respecting constraints coming from physical interfaces, clearance, thermal environment, stress, materials, weight and balance, and other engineering domains. You will also anticipate risks and propose mitigation actions together with the project team.
You will propose integration solutions to solve transfunctional integration issues, conduct trade-offs, and arbitrate and escalate as appropriate.
You will be supported by the activities of the other integration members like the SSCEI, the DMU integrator, and the interface manager. More importantly, you will have to use your facilitation and negotiation skills.
You will be able to use your strong communication and technical skills within a team. You will conduct trade-offs, arbitrate design proposals, and influence the decision-making process.
Due to your understanding of project management fundamentals, you propose and manage an integration roadmap to reach the next development milestone.
You will verify the vehicle integration maturity against the given multi-system and overall vehicle requirements. You understand the basic configuration methods and rules and know how they are linked with the other business processes.
You realize that DMU is more than a collection of 3D data and you know and apply the relevant processes, methods, and tools.
You will create a basic preliminary study design in CATIA to propose an integration solution to the affected engineering functions.
Completed Degree in Engineering
Several years of experience in system integration in the aerospace industry or extensive experience in system integration in another field.
OR Several years of experience in development of several different systems / ATA-chapters / general engineering.

Knowledge of CATIA V5/VPM/Windchill.
Open-minded, strong negotiation and communication skills.
Like to work in a transnational context.
Strong sense of responsibility, decision-making, and initiative.
Ability to solve problems.
Language Skills: English negotiation level; German and French desirable.
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.
Attractive salary including holiday pay, Christmas bonus, and profit sharing.
30 days holidays and extra days off for special occasions.
Excellent upskilling opportunities and great development prospects.
Special benefits: employer-funded pension, employee stock options, discounted car leasing, special conditions for insurances, public transport subsidy, discounts at local businesses.
