Job Description

The Global Software Development team delivers class-leading software for the energy management process in Statkraft. Our responsibilities include:

• Developing our intraday energy trading platform which powers automated energy management and provides intelligence over market data.
• Delivering customized solutions to the energy management business processes that optimizes sales of our renewable power on different energy markets.
• Working with operations to provide flexible, highly available infrastructure.

On a technical level we deliver a wide range of solutions ranging from web applications to high throughput data processing.

As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced developers across diverse areas and share your knowledge with them. You will also collaborate with business users and will learn a lot about producing and selling power, power markets and trading strategies.

Your role:

• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Ensure code quality through automated tests and code reviews.
• Understanding production maintenance and following up on issues.
• Take responsibility for the development of our platform, communicating directly with the users.
• Play a part in knowledge sharing in the organization.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software development spanning multiple years.
• Professional and/or open-source work in at least one functional programming language, ideally Erlang or Elixir.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Get it done attitude, eager to learn new technologies.

Other useful skills for this role:

• Python experience.
• Familiarity with the actor model and distributed systems programming.
• Understanding of network protocols.
• Experience with Git and Gitlab CI.
• Linux system administration, including cloud contexts (Azure, Kubernetes, GitOps).
• Knowledge in .NET, JavaScript are beneficial.
• Experience with agile software development.
• Understanding of continuous (energy) markets.
