About the role
The EI/Automation Engineer at Nexperia will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems and equipment within the manufacturing IT environment. This role is critical in enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and productivity of manufacturing processes through automation and integration. The position reports directly to the Fab IT Manager.
This is your new job
- Design, implement, and maintain automation systems and equipment to support manufacturing processes
- Develop and integrate IT solutions for equipment interfaces (EI) to ensure seamless communication between manufacturing systems and IT infrastructure
- Monitor and analyze the performance of automation systems to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure automation solutions meet production requirements and standards
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for automation systems and equipment interfaces
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in automation and equipment interfaces
- Manage relationships with automation vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Participate in the planning and execution of automation-related projects and upgrades within the manufacturing site
- Provide training and support to staff on automation systems and best practices
This is you
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical knowledge of automation systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and HMI (Human-Machine Interface)
- Experience with equipment interfaces and integration with IT systems
- Proficiency in programming languages used in automation, such as ladder logic, Python, or C++
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations related to automation and manufacturing IT operations
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with manufacturing and engineering teams
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality automation solutions
- Ability to adapt to changing technology and business needs
- Strong organizational and time management skills
