FCS is seeking a dynamic, motivated Mitigation Banking Program Administrator with at least 5 years of experience to lead the development of our Mitigation Banking Program. This role can be remote, hybrid, or in-office at any of our locations, supporting projects nationwide and reporting to the Director of Biological and Cultural Resources.

The Mitigation Banking Program Administrator (CG10A/B) will be an expert in mitigation banking, responsible for building and managing our mitigation bank portfolio, focusing initially on site selection and bank approval processes, primarily in California, with opportunities for growth into broader markets.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Development of new mitigation banks (50%)
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team dedicated to mitigation bank development.
  • Apply knowledge of permitting processes at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Identify and pursue optimal sites for mitigation bank development.
  • Drive site selection and draft early-stage approval documents from a regulatory perspective.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure success.
  • Mentoring and coaching (50%)
    • Recruit, hire, and train mitigation banking professionals.
    • Enhance team expertise through coaching and mentorship.
    Skills
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ArcMap, RiverMorph, Hoboware, R, and other data processing software.
    • Ability to interpret wetland and stream design plans, conduct ecological assessments, and review geomorphology data.
    • Knowledge of functional assessments and related tools.
    Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or equivalent work experience.
    • At least 3 years of experience in land acquisition, real estate, land management, or environmental permitting related to mitigation banking.
    • Knowledge of environmental policies, including the Clean Water Act and ESA requirements.
    Work Environment & Physical Demands

    The role offers a collaborative environment with flexible work location options. Regular use of office equipment and periodic travel to sites are expected.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Salary range: $135,000 – $178,000. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, pet insurance, wellness programs, and more. Details vary by employment status and are subject to change.
