Job summary

HyperStrong is seeking a Project HSE Manager to supervise regulatory compliance and safety for BESS projects in Germany and Europe. You will establish HSE systems, conduct risk assessments, training, audits, and work with cross-functional teams to embed safety in project delivery.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of professional HSE experience in engineering, renewable energy or industrial projects.
• Solid knowledge of German and EU HSE regulations and environmental standards.
• Experience with risk assessment, safety inspections, incidents investigations and training.
• Experience working with contractors and multinational project teams.
• Fluent English; German language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage HSE performance of contractors and subcontractors and ensure compliance.
• Prepare HSE documentation, reports and plans.
• Support audits and inspections and promote safety culture.

Job description

HyperStrong is a leading global provider of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions, delivering advanced energy storage products and integrated solutions across international markets.

As HyperStrong continues to expand its business across Europe, we are looking for an experienced Project HSE Manager to support the safe and compliant delivery of our BESS projects in Germany and across the European market.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, implement and continuously improve the HSE management system for projects in Germany and Europe.
• Ensure compliance with applicable German and European HSE regulations, standards, customer requirements and project-specific HSE procedures.
• Monitor and supervise HSE performance at project sites, including construction, installation, commissioning and operation activities.
• Conduct HSE risk assessments, site inspections, audits and safety reviews, and develop appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
• Identify potential hazards and implement effective measures to prevent accidents, injuries and environmental incidents.
• Organize and deliver HSE training, toolbox talks and safety awareness programs for employees, contractors and subcontractors.
• Investigate accidents, near misses and other HSE incidents, identify root causes and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and O&M teams to ensure HSE requirements are integrated into project execution.
• Manage and monitor HSE performance of contractors and subcontractors and ensure compliance with project HSE requirements.
• Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, reports, records and project-specific HSE plans.
• Support project teams during customer audits, regulatory inspections and other HSE-related assessments.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across HyperStrong's European projects.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of professional experience in HSE, preferably within engineering, renewable energy, BESS, EPC, construction or industrial projects.
• Solid knowledge of German and European HSE regulations, occupational health and safety requirements and environmental standards.
• Proven experience in project/site HSE management, including risk assessment, safety inspections, incident investigation and safety training.
• Experience working with contractors, subcontractors and multinational project teams.
• Strong understanding of construction, electrical installation, commissioning or industrial project environments.
• Relevant HSE qualifications or certifications are highly preferred.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on project sites.
• Fluent English is required; German language skills are an advantage.
• Willingness to travel to project sites within Germany and other European countries.
