Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Own the data architecture principles;
• Lead and co-own the data strategy;
• Manage the enterprise data model at the conceptual and logical levels;
• Consult on physical-level solution architecture;
• Act as Lead Data Governor, overseeing quality, security, privacy, and GDPR compliance.

Qualifications

Key competencies and qualifications:

• Ability to communicate data value across all levels and influence data handling practices;
• Strong communication skills to connect diverse business units;
• Conceptual thinking and impact communication;
• Define and promote data architecture principles;
• Contribute to enterprise data modeling and understand the big picture;
• Collaborate with technical architects and business process architects;
• Minimum 10 years in data engineering or architecture;
• At least 3 years as an Enterprise Data Architect or leading large data transformation projects;
• Interest in business processes and challenges, experience in wholesale/retail is a plus;
• Experience coding data pipelines and managing software lifecycle;
• Deep knowledge of data processing technologies and database types (Relational, NoSQL, Data Lake);
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS);
• Consulting mindset and proactive project support;
• Skills in data modeling, governance, and applying methodologies;
• Understanding of AI/ML integration and data privacy regulations;
• Willingness to represent METRO.digital externally and mentor team members;
• Familiarity with agile delivery across locations.
