Your mission

We are looking for an Engineering Manager Platform (m/f/d) to strengthen our development team at our offices in Berlin, Essen, or Munich.

As an Engineering Manager (m/f/d) for our GRASP platform, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team responsible for delivering scalable, high-quality solutions to complex regulatory and risk management challenges. You will provide technical guidance while empowering your team to own delivery from planning to deployment. Your role will include shaping engineering practices, improving team performance through process optimisation, and ensuring that the team’s output aligns with business goals.

You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to prioritise work, balance short- and long-term investments, and drive clarity across the organisation. A key part of your responsibility will be to foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork and open communication as well as a high level of ownership.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Delivery: Lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions for the GRASP platform, ensuring alignment with business and customer needs.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide guidance on architectural decisions, code reviews, and technical problem-solving to maintain engineering excellence.
  • Process Management: Establish and refine agile processes to enhance team efficiency and product quality, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous integration practices.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional partners (e.g., Product, Design) to define project scopes, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of features.
  • Talent Development: Mentor team members, support their professional growth, and foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
Your profile
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in software development with proficiency in Java, PostgreSQL, and Spring Boot. Experience with Angular/Vue or Node.js is a plus.
  • Cloud Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of cloud environments is essential; experience with Azure is advantageous.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience in a leadership role, managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Agile Methodologies: Proven experience in implementing and managing agile processes to drive team performance and product delivery.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Our working language is English.
