Engineering Manager - New Platform (m/f/x) (onsite / remote in Germany)

Founded in 2014, we employ over 500 people across Munich, Berlin, Vienna, and London. Our team, led by Erik Podzuweit and Florian Prucker, is dedicated to developing a new generation of financial services.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Engineering Manager (EM) to lead one of our engineering teams. You will play a crucial role in developing our platform, working closely with product managers and academics to innovate in the financial industry.

Responsibilities:

• Develop our new fully vertically integrated investment platform using cutting-edge technology and modern software development practices.
• Lead, empower, and manage a team of engineers, fostering their career growth and helping the team become self-organized, agile, and autonomous.
• Provide technical expertise and share best practices within your team.
• Collaborate with Product and Design Teams to build and integrate new features.
• Organize, prioritize, and achieve business goals with your team and product stakeholders.
• Participate in the recruitment process to attract new team members.

Qualifications:

• A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, engineering, sciences) or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience as a backend developer (Java, Kotlin), preferably with cloud infrastructures and event-based asynchronous architectures.
• Strong understanding of software development processes, distributed architectures, and RESTful API design.
• Passion for team development and technical excellence.
• Extreme ownership mentality.
• Strong analytical skills in both technical and product domains.
• Excellent communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
• Leadership experience is a plus.
• Financial services background is a strong plus.
