Your Role in the Project

As an Engineering Manager – Data & AI, you will lead and grow a team of talented data engineers, AI experts, and architects, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence. You will combine leadership, hands-on development, and execution excellence to drive project success while shaping our technological vision.

Your mission: Deliver state-of-the-art Data & AI solutions that empower businesses to make smarter decisions—while coaching and mentoring your team to reach their full potential.

Your Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Inspire & Lead → Build and enable a thriving team, fostering a culture of innovation and growth.
  • Career Development → Support team members with clear career paths, regular feedback, and mentorship programs.
  • Recruitment & Retention → Attract top talent and create an environment of high performance, knowledge-sharing and professional development.
  • Hands-On Involvement → Spend :60% of your time actively contributing to projects, guiding engineers, and ensuring technical excellence.


Technical Excellence & Delivery

  • Data & AI Solutions → Lead the development of robust, scalable data platforms using Azure, Databricks, and modern AI technologies.
  • Quality & Best Practices → Ensure high standards in code quality, architecture, and project execution.
  • Continuous Innovation → Evolve our technical stack and drive adoption of industry-leading practices.


Sales & Pre-Sales Support

  • Client Alignment → Collaborate with account teams to understand client needs and provide technical expertise in proposals.
  • Strategic Partnerships → Act as a technical trusted advisor, managing key client relationships and ensuring successful project outcomes.


Strategic Leadership

  • Goal Setting → Align team objectives with company strategy to drive impactful results.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration → Work closely with other teams to ensure operational excellence and technical alignment.
  • Thought Leadership → Represent KI performance in the Data & AI ecosystem through innovation, knowledge sharing, and community engagement.


Your Profile – Required Skills

  • Experience & Leadership → Several years of experience in Data Engineering, AI, or Analytics, with proven experience in team leadership.
  • Technical Expertise → Deep knowledge of Azure, Databricks, AI and modern data architectures.
  • Business Understanding → Ability to solve business problems with the right technical solution.
  • Communication & Collaboration → Strong ability to engage with stakeholders, mentor teams, and present complex topics clearly.
  • Excellent communication skills – Fluent and business-proficient language skills in German and English.
