GENERAL INFORMATION

Reports to: Director of Engineering - Mobile and Web

YOUR CHALLENGE AT WIRE

We are looking for an experienced Manager to lead a team of talented iOS Engineers working on Wire’s iOS app.

The position consists of 3 main missions:

1. People Management: Developing your team skills to maximize their impact over company KPIs, while aiming at making them autonomous.
2. Scope Management: Mastering your team’s scope to understand what needs to be done and how to do it, to fulfill current needs and anticipate future challenges.
3. Delivery Management: Ensuring your team’s work meets expectations and quality standards, delivered smoothly and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide an environment, assignments, and support for each team member to grow in their career.
• Partner with product teams to define the team roadmap with high-level delivery strategies and iterative specifications, focusing on delivering incremental value.
• Participate in and challenge technical decisions to ensure solutions are scalable, flexible, reliable, and aligned with standards.
• Drive initiatives to improve technical architecture and developer experience, ensuring stakeholder support.
• Monitor team performance and refine workflows and processes to improve efficiency.
• Address challenges and conflicts promptly, removing obstacles for team success.

YOUR PROFILE

• 3+ years of experience in Engineering Management, leading high-performing teams.
• 7+ years of experience in designing, building, and scaling mobile applications, with deep mobile development knowledge.
• Knowledge of iOS technologies and Apple’s ecosystem is a plus.
• Proficient in managing complex projects in high-throughput environments.
• Strong People Management skills, inspiring teams and leading change.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Clear communication skills in English, with well-documented procedures.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
