Job Description:

You’ll be leading several engineering teams, both directly and through managing managers. You will own the domain of consumption modeling for electric vehicles and will be guiding your teams through research and development to bring the highest quality EV Navigation products to the market. What you'll do:

  1. Develop and build engineering teams: attract, recruit and retain capable individuals (engineers and managers) to grow a resilient, diverse organization.
  2. Work with a diverse engineering team, consisting of software engineers, applied scientists and data scientists which are distributed across several geographic locations.
  3. Enable and support team managers to maximize team members’ potential and unlock high performance and impact by fostering the habits of goal-setting and regular, insightful feedback. Assess team performance and hold team managers accountable for their parts.
  4. Build effective trustful communication channels between teams, stakeholders and higher management.
  5. Lead team managers and members to continuously learn and develop themselves.
  6. Identify and implement opportunities to improve the way of working and instigate a continuous improvement culture.
  7. Identify and manage risks to successful delivery on commitments, define corrective actions and report to higher management.
  8. Create a safe, professional and employee friendly environment with a focus on productivity, quality, transparency, openness, and engagement.
  9. Set up your team for innovation; ensuring continuous focus on valuable product improvements through applied research and experimentation.
  10. Define and forecast budgets and control costs for your organization.

What you'll need:

  • Proven track record in managing several software engineering and/or applied science teams and experience having managers as direct reports (5+ years).
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset.
  • Thorough understanding of the entire software engineering lifecycle.
  • University degree level knowledge in Computer Science.
  • Hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Experience with setting up machine learning models and data pipelines in production.
  • Applied research experience as demonstrated through the successful rollout of systematic experimentation and innovation practices in the industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders and engineers.
  • Good communication, influencing, time management, and problem-solving skills.

What’s nice to have:

  • Software development experience in modern object-oriented languages such as Kotlin or C++.
  • Experience with the navigation software domain or in the automotive industry.
  • Exposure to APIs, SDKs, public cloud and microservices.
  • PhD in Computer Science or other quantitative discipline.

What we offer:

A competitive compensation package, personal development budget, paid learning days, access to e-learning resources, flexible work arrangements, home office setup support, options for international work, extra holidays, team events, and a diverse, inclusive culture.
