Job summary

Apaleo is seeking an Engineering Manager in Germany to lead and grow our software teams. You will drive people leadership, delivery, strategy, and AI-driven SDLC initiatives while maintaining high-quality, sustainable velocity across product squads.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, and Staff+ engineers, own technical strategy and roadmaps, and mentor engineers to reach their full potential in a fast-growing hospitality tech scale-up.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams.
• Backend focus with C#/.NET and cloud knowledge.
• Experience with distributed systems and DevOps tooling.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka) is a plus.

• Build, mentor, andretaina healthy, high-performing engineering team.
• Own predictable, high-quality delivery whilemaintaininga sustainable pace.
• Collaboratewith Product, Design, Tech Leads, and Staff+ engineers on roadmap and long-term technical strategy.
• Ensure strong engineering standards, operational readiness, and a blamelessincidentculture.
• Develop andconsequentlyrefininganAI-driven development pipeline.
• Improve engineering KPIs (DORA).
• Communicate clearly across teams and leadership, shaping culture and aligning priorities.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, team composition, and long-term talent development, while still being hands-on.
