Rosenxt Group seeks an Engineering Manager AI (m/f/d) to lead and grow our EU-based AI/ML team. You will manage data scientists and ML engineers across multiple countries, shape the technical roadmap, and ensure delivery excellence in a distributed setup.

With 7+ years in software and 3+ years of people leadership, you will mentor, hire, and align teams with safety and reliability standards while collaborating with Head of AI and senior leadership across Europe, the US, and Asia.

To strengthen our development team we are looking for a Engineering Manager AI (all genders welcome) Rosenxt is a forward-thinking technology group building innovative solutions for critical infrastructure in harsh environments. With divisions spanning novel sensors, autonomous robotics, and AI we operate with an agile, start-up-like spirit inside a larger, internationally operating organization where safety, reliability, and engineering excellence come first. To lead and grow our EU-based AI and Machine Learning team, we're looking for an Engineering Manager who combines genuine technical depth in AI/ML with strong people leadership, organizational awareness, and communication skills. You'll be the day-to-day engineering leader for our EU-based AI team, with line management for a growing team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers and serve as the leadership anchor for the European side of a distributed organization spanning Europe, the US, and Southeast Asia. Reporting to the Head of AI (based in the UK), this role suits someone who thrives with autonomy and wants to shape how a growing team operates.

What you can expect

• You own line management for a distributed team of Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists - running regular 1:1s, setting development goals, and driving performance reviews and career growth.
• You build a cohesive, high-trust team culture across countries and time zones, encouraging transparency, ownership, and continuous learning.
• You support the team's delivery cadence, remove blockers early, and drive engineering quality standards (CI/CD, code review, cloud automation, monitoring, documentation).
• You spot process gaps and implement improvements that help the team deliver more effectively.
• You build strong working relationships across Germany, the Netherlands, the US, and the UK, bridging the European engineering team with colleagues around the world.
• You partner with the Head of AI and the wider AI/Software leadership on HR, technical, and organizational topics.
• You engage credibly in technical discussions, help the team make sound architectural decisions, and represent the team to stakeholders.

What you bring

• 7+ years in software engineering including AI/ML, with 3+ years in a people leadership or team management role.
• Proven experience managing cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Passion to stay current with developments in AI/ML and engineering practices, but also with evolving approaches to engineering management and team health.
• Strong coaching, feedback, and performance-management skills, with a track record of building cohesion and morale in distributed or remote teams.
• Excellent communication across time zones, cultures, and organizational boundaries.
• Fluent German and English; Dutch is a plus.
• A degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, strong organizational awareness, and a servant-leadership style - you measure success by your team's performance.

Nice to have

• hands-on experience with AI/ML systems in production, a background in industrial or safety-critical/regulated environments (oil & gas, subsea, energy, defense), familiarity with the EU AI Act or similar frameworks, and experience within a European parent organization.
