• At least 6 years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining platforms used by multiple feature teams.
• Deep expertise in building scalable microservices and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka).
• Experience with DevOps practices and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and active listening abilities.

The role

As the Engineering Manager for the Shopping Platform team at HelloFresh, you will lead the engineering vision and execution for one of the most critical surfaces in our digital customer experience. Your team owns the platform layer that powers shopping browsing and personalization experiences across our global brands.

As we prepare to scale our menu by 10x and more, you will build the backbone for this growth by architecting our core search, personalization, customer targeting, and engagement systems to perform at scale.

What you'll do

1. Lead, inspire, and grow a cross-functional team of 8 engineers while ensuring smooth delivery of new products and continuous improvement of your team's technical infrastructure.
2. Drive architectural and design decisions in the team, with a strong focus on quality standards, engineering best practices, and operational excellence.
3. Ensure close collaboration and joint decision-making between different engineering teams and stakeholders, especially product leads.
4. Actively contribute to hiring and capacity planning processes.
5. Conduct regular code reviews and mentor engineers.
6. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and embody HelloFresh DNA.
